| its the weekend! i almost got into the melbourne swing of things and started my weekend last night. it sort of started partially during the day today because i was only at lab my 2.5 hours. it was awesome. i went in did my stuff, and went home.
i went in late because i had a(nother) dentist appointment this morning. to fill a cavity. fun. the cavity was on a wisdom tooth, which i not realize until i was there. i got all the drilling and blasting done with no anesthetic. i guess that was a good thing. the first thing the dentist did was poke the hole really hard and ask me if it hurt. i couldnt feel it, other than the obvious pressure. so she suggested that i give it a go without numbing the entire side of my jaw and after much hesitation i agreed. it wasnt bad. only the slow drill after a few seconds did i get a shock. and the "glue" smelled really bad, but that had nothing to do with the anesthetic. and the good news of the day was there is no immediate need to take any wisdom teeth out! hence going on with the proceedings today.
when i decided to go to lab i got ready to go downstairs and waited 5 minutes for the elevator. i got in it went up to the top, then came back down. (wanna go for a ride?) someone got off at my floor when i got on so it wasnt ready for downward passengers when i stepped in. that meant that we stopped at my floor on the way down from the roof. when i finally got downstairs it was raining. based on my lengthy experience descending i decided not got go back up to get my umbrella. i should know better than to leave home without one. it wasnt raining that hard, was it? yes, it was. it was raining up from the ground and blowing everywhere. i walked out to swanson through the covered part of the qv, heading to the tram stop. if i took the tram to uni then walked along grattan street i was still going to get soaked. not good. then i did what anyone would have done in the situation: bought an umbrella. i went to big w and bought one for $6.22 not bad. and i took out money from cash back at the check out thus saving myself a trip to the atm later. two birds, one stone. the umbrella i bought fits into my purse, its little, none of my other ones to that.
i really want to get one of those huge golf umbrellas. the ones the caddy's use. or the ones they use when starlets get out of a limo and get cant a drip of water on them. those would be good here, for walking to uni when no one pays attention to anyone else walking around them. i would put my head down too and walk blindly, and win the umbrella bashing contest based on "mine is bigger than yours". and i would be drier with a larger umbrella diameter of coverage.
tonight i saw knocked up at the movies. it was good. very funny. however, i was disapointed with my movie food. after the goodness of the coke slushy the other night, i was all ready to get another one tonight. until i went to order and the girl tells me the coke machine is not working! it acts up all the time and usually is not a flavour option. however they have bubblegum and raspberry flavours to choose from. not what i wanted to hear!! i ended up getting the bubblegum flavour cause it was blue and only got a small.. that i think still came in the medium sized cup. not as good as coke.
dear confectionary merchants at melbourne central hoyts cinema, please have your coke slushy machine working on wednesday july 11th. i will be attending the harry potter movie and intend to buy a coke slushy to refresh my thirst during this film. thank you.
walking home from melbourne central i got a huge craving for pretzels. i completely forgot that i had a craving for pretzels the other day while i was at safeway this morning. i looked at the time: 11:55pm. could i make it? i ran down to the escalators and almost all the screens were closed at safeway. one was open by the express line check out. i asked an employee if they were still open, the security guy standing next to him tells me no they are closed. i explain to the employee that i will be really quick. he asked what i wanted to get. i say pretzels and he says ok and they are is aisle 7. yay! i come my pretzels and came home and have eaten 90% of the bag in the last oh, 27 minutes. lol. the remains of the bag now join the 2 half finished bags and the one unopened bag of chips on the kitchen counter.
i may now attempt to watch some if not most of the rest of mallrats that i began watching 2 nights ago. three possibly? i forgot to return my dvds to the library today. i have to take them back tomorrow when i go to lab so they are there first thing monday morning and i do not get charged for them. since i didnt go, i didnt borrow any more seinfeld dvds and have none to watch this weekend.
im listening to transformer OST. grant if you want a copy remind me to give it to you as i will probly forget until i see you and then it will be a little late. |
