an entertaining moment this arvo that made everyone there laughed out loud. the lab was having an afternoon tea to celebrate claire's birthday, sitting in the department tea room. we were having chocolate cake and tim tam bits (like malteasers, but with tim tam bits, so good) since lea is still away and she prevents us from eating chocolate at all other lab gatherings. anyhow, we had been having some good conversations and generally allowing time to go by all thinking that we should go back upstairs and get back to work. rather out of the blue, enzo comments "there is a mouse under that chair" motioning to the chairs at the other side of the room. you have NEVER seen a group of people move so fast. i had my feet up on the railings under the coffee table so i jumped less that say, kate, who within a split second was on her chair no longer touching the floor. we are group of people who all work with rodents and probably all had contact with them today, but like any programmed human being the reaction to "eek, mouse!" is get off the floor.
once we had all got over ourselves, a few of us were curious to see where the things was. i never saw it, so either we scared it away or it left on its own. chocolate cake was enough to get it to come out of the woodwork on a tuesday afternoon. then came this jokes of well who's experiment is missing an animal / the colony is running wild etc. a few minutes later everyone went back to the lab and the fun and games was all over.

i got home much later than i wanted to tonight. we had hoped get ready for HARRY POTTER DAY tomorrow by watching the last movie tonight. not happening anymore as grant has some work to do. he has to finish the BIG T, so he is excused from oogling at the tv for tonight. maybe in the afternoon before we go to see #5 we can get the prep work in and wish we had broomsticks too. its going to be awesome!! i shouldnt really say that since going into a movie with expectations is bad.. the less i expect the better i like the movie. i ended up seeing the preview before knocked up, i think, and i was somewhat disapointed that now i have seen some of how the movie looks etc. once i saw that i had to pay to watch the trailer on i(am.lame)tunes i decided not to bother and go into with a blank slate. oh well!!
